We find 37,000 jobs up for grabs in IT right now

MORE than 37,000 IT jobs are up for grabs today and there are more and more positions becoming available all the time.

As many firms say they are having difficulties in finding all the staff they need, now is the time to get on board.

“With latest figures showing that there are more IT vacancies than available candidates, it’s a great time to be thinking about getting into an IT career,” says e-Skills UK, the Sector Skills Council for Business and Information Technology.

The variety of jobs on offer is vast.

“IT doesn’t just mean working in a technology company – every sector relies on IT for its success, so there are a whole range of IT jobs available in everything from finance or retail, to manufacturing and the creative industries,” the e-Skills spokeswoman adds.

The good news is demand for IT workers is set to continue. “Over the next decade the IT industry is set to grow at almost five times the national average, with more than 500,000 recruits needed in the next five years.

“This growth means there is plenty of opportunity for everyone from young people just out of education to experienced workers looking for a change.”

It’s also important, she says, to remember that an IT career is a great choice for men and women alike.

“Many women often dismiss the idea of working in IT because they view the industry as male dominated and complex, but the reality is very different.

There are countless exciting opportunities that can appeal to everyone and we encourage young people, particularly girls, to consider an IT career.”

With all this good news it could be a smart move to get trained and find a job fast.
