Hannah Williams recently switched from a pay monthly deal with T-Mobile to a pay-as-you-go contract with O2 and saved £15 a month.

Hannah, 24, from Cardiff, was on a £30-a-month tariff that gave her unlimited texts and 500 minutes call time – yet she regularly spent £40 or more.

She said: “I contacted T-Mobile to see why I was being charged so much and they said it was for internet use and sending picture messages.

“As I hardly ever used the internet I couldn’t understand why I was paying such steep bills, especially as I was well within my usage limits for texts and calls.

“As I only use my telephone infrequently I decided to opt for a pay-as-you-go deal because I didn’t want to be locked into a contract again and I now spend only about £15 a month.”

Hannah, who married Robin Tovey, 29, yesterday, waited until her 24-month contract finished last September before moving. She was able to keep her old handset for her new deal after putting in a new Sim card from O2.

She added: “I’m really glad I changed as being on the wrong tariff to suit my needs was just throwing money down the drain.”
